We designed and built this campervan so that it would fit our family of 5 in with enough space for us to live comfortably and carry our gear, but benefit from the more compact medium wheelbase of the Mercedes Sprinter. A section of the lower bunk bed packs away so you have access to your bags and equipment. The upper bunk bed at the back can be removed if necessary but provides a good use of storage for bedding and bags. The front bed allows for the kids to go to bed and the adults still be able to sit up in the living area and enjoy an evening together. The kitchen can be accessed when all the beds are up. A pull out unit stores a cassette toilet for night time, and can be easily slid back in to optimise valuable space in the daytime.
The front overhead bed consists of 2 slide out rails and 4 frames that when assembled form a solid double bed whilst maintaining the living space underneath. The bed can be put up with one practical person but is easily done with two.
